The Jazz Open Stuttgart is one of Europe’s most significant music festivals and, since its founding in 1994, has become a fixture on the international festival calendar. Every year, Stuttgart transforms into a gathering place for music lovers and international artists representing a wide variety of genres. With its unique mix of jazz, pop, soul, rock, and live entertainment, the Jazz Open attracts visitors from all over Germany and beyond. Since 2021, NUSSLI has been constructing the main concert stage as well as a covered spectator grandstand, thereby creating the infrastructure foundation for a first-class festival experience.

Temporary stage construction for live entertainment

Year after year, international stars, renowned musicians, and up-and-coming talents shape the lineup of the Jazz Open Stuttgart. To ensure the artists have the best possible conditions, NUSSLI builds the festival’s main stage as a high-performance temporary structure. The stage forms the heart of the open-air festival and provides the setting for concerts attended by thousands of visitors. Thanks to its flexible modular design, the stage infrastructure can be precisely tailored to the requirements of each production and provides the necessary foundation for high-quality live events.

Covered bleachers for a comfortable concert experience

A distinctive feature of the festival infrastructure is the covered spectator grandstand built by NUSSLI. It offers visitors comfortable seating with a direct view of the main stage and creates a high-quality open-air concert experience. The roof enhances comfort in changing weather conditions and makes the grandstand a popular spectator area. In this way, the temporary grandstand solution combines key factors for modern music and cultural events, such as functionality, safety, and comfort.

Temporary event infrastructure for an established festival

As an annual music festival, Jazz Open Stuttgart requires an infrastructure that can be implemented reliably and efficiently. The temporary stage and grandstand structures are erected quickly and dismantled again once the event concludes. The modular design allows for a high degree of flexibility and supports the sustainable use of the systems across multiple festival editions. The long-standing collaboration since 2021 demonstrates how recurring event projects can be successfully realized through professional planning and proven system solutions.

Expertise in festivals and open-air concerts

The Jazz Open Stuttgart is a prime example of NUSSLI’s expertise in festival construction and concert infrastructure. The company has carried out similar projects at, among others, the Gurten Festival in Bern, at the Openair Frauenfeld or at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona. Whether Concert stages, Spectator stands or Event structures With thousands of visitors, the demands on security, logistics, and the visitor experience are high at every event. The lessons learned from these projects are incorporated into the organization of the Jazz Open and help create optimal conditions for organizers, artists, and the audience year after year.
