Gurtenfestival
The Gurtenfestival is one of the best-known open-air music festivals in Switzerland and transforms Bern's local mountain into a meeting place for music fans from Switzerland and abroad every summer. NUSSLI has been supporting the event since 2003 with temporary stages, hospitality areas and extensive event infrastructure. Year after year, numerous structures for visitors, artists, sponsors and organizers are built on the festival grounds. This long-standing collaboration makes the Gurtenfestival an impressive example of the versatile possibilities of temporary event architecture in the festival sector.
Stages for live music and festival atmosphere
At the center of the infrastructure are the main stage, the tent stage and the forest stage. NUSSLI realizes the stage structures and supplements them with the necessary production and technical areas. Additional FOH platforms, delay towers and LED installations support the implementation of the festival program and ensure that the performances can be experienced across the entire site. In addition, platforms for artists, media and the festival management will be created to enable a professional process behind the scenes.
Experience spaces for guests and partners
In addition to the stages, NUSSLI is creating numerous areas for visitors and sponsors. These include VIP areas with grandstands, a spacious VIP garden, sponsor areas and various recreation and meeting zones on the festival site. Additional structures such as lockers, bars, platforms and service areas help to make a visit to the festival as comfortable as possible for guests. The modular structures can be flexibly adapted to the requirements of each edition and create attractive spaces for different user groups.
Temporary infrastructure for festival operations
Organizing a multi-day festival requires far more than just stages and spectator areas. NUSSLI realizes numerous functional infrastructures that support operations on the site. This includes entrance areas, wayfinding and signaling structures, cable crossings, toilet platforms and shower platforms for the camping and accommodation areas. In addition, food stands and supply areas of various sizes will be created to facilitate the gastronomic offer on the festival site. The combination of numerous individual structures creates a functioning overall system for visitors, artists and organizers.
Temporary event structures for the live entertainment industry
The Gurtenfestival demonstrates NUSSLI's versatility in the field of festival and concert infrastructure. Over many years, the Event architecture continuously adapted and expanded to meet new requirements. The combination of Stage construction the development of a new hospitality concept, hospitality solutions and functional infrastructure requires precise planning and close coordination between all parties involved.
NUSSLI is realizing comparable projects at the Openair Frauenfeld the largest hip-hop festival in Europe, or at the Hurricane Festival in Germany. As at the Gurtenfestival, temporary stage landscapes, spectator areas and extensive event structures are also created there, which are rebuilt every year and create the basis for unforgettable festival experiences.
